The Performing Arts Graduate Program at the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil)
offers a multicultural, transdisciplinary and multi-genre course of studies that
stresses state-of-the art theoretical investigation as well as a wide range of
staging practices. Both master’s degree and doctoral candidates are welcome to
choose their specific topics of interest from a variety of (post)disciplinary
fields such as: performance theory and ethnography, dramaturgy, dance studies,
popular culture, Brazilian cultural studies, ethnoscenology, drama studies,
semiotics, comparative literature, arts education, set and light design,
sociology and theater, dance anthropology, choreography, theories of directing,
postcolonial studies and queer theory.
